Fabric-First Approach
Whole House Retrofit Solutions
Our whole house retrofit approach treats every property as a complete system — ensuring the right combination of energy efficiency measures are planned, sequenced and delivered in the right order. The result is lasting performance improvements, reduced energy costs and genuine comfort for the people who live there.
The Approach
What is Whole House Retrofit?
Whole house retrofit is a comprehensive approach to improving a property’s energy performance, treating the building as a complete system rather than addressing individual measures in isolation.
Unlike a simple boiler swap or loft insulation job, whole house retrofit considers how all elements of a property interact: the building fabric, heating system, ventilation and occupant behaviour. The result is a more comfortable, healthier and significantly more energy efficient home.
PAS 2035, the UK’s specification for domestic retrofit, sets out the standard for how whole house retrofit should be planned, designed, delivered and verified. As a fully accredited delivery partner, Proximus Solutions follows PAS 2035 principles across every project we undertake.
Measures We Install
A Complete Range of Retrofit Measures
Our in-house teams and vetted contractors are fully certified to install every measure required for a whole house retrofit project, delivering quality and compliance at every stage.

The Approach
Our End to End Retrofit Process
Every Proximus Solutions whole house retrofit follows a strict PAS 2035 aligned process, managed by qualified Retrofit Coordinator from start to sign-off.
Stage 1 – Retrofit Assessment
Our qualified Retrofit Assessor visits the property, gathers data on fabric, services and occupancy, and produces a comprehensive Retrofit Assessment report.
Stage 2 – Medium Term Improvement Plan (MTIP)
Based on the assessment, an MTIP is created, setting out a sequenced plan of measures to improve the property’s energy performance over time.
Stage 3 – Retrofit Design
Our Retrofit Designer produces technical specifications for all approved measures, ensuring they work together correctly and will not cause unintended consequences.
Stage 4 – Resident Engagement
Our engagement team communicates with the occupant, explaining the works, answering questions and ensuring their well-being is considered throughout the process.
Stage 5 – Installation
Our certified engineers carry out all works to specification, with an on-site Retrofit Coordinator overseeing quality throughout the installation process.
Stage 6 – Handover & Verification
On completion, a full handover is carried out with the resident. An independent Retrofit Evaluator verifies that all works meet design intent and PAS 2035 requirements.
PAS 2035 — Why It Matters
PAS 2035 was introduced to prevent poor-quality retrofit causing damp, mould and structural problems. Our full compliance with this standard protects residents, landlords and the public purse.
Working With Local Authorities and Housing Providers
We support retrofit delivery across a wide range of housing contexts, including:
- Local authority housing programmes
- Social housing and registered provider stock
- Mixed tenure estates
- Rural and hard to treat properties
Our delivery models are tailored to suit local priorities, existing housing stock and the operational structures of each organisation we work with.
Residents at the Heart of Every Project
Retrofit works are carried out in people's homes, often while they are still living there. At Proximus Solutions, resident engagement and safeguarding are not an afterthought — they are built into every stage of delivery, ensuring:
- Clear, jargon-free communication at every stage
- Respectful and considerate working practices
- Dedicated support for vulnerable or at-risk residents
- Consistent standards maintained across all delivery partners
This approach builds trust, encourages participation and ensures a positive experience for every resident we work with.
