Our client, a national logistics and warehousing company with a 35,000m² facility in Greater Manchester, was spending over £180,000 per year on electricity — a figure that had risen significantly since 2021. The company had ambitious carbon reduction targets and needed a solution that would make a real dent in both their costs and emissions.
Our commercial team conducted a full energy and structural survey of the facility before designing a bespoke 250kWp solar PV system utilising the available south-facing roof space. We worked closely with the client’s facilities management team to ensure minimal operational disruption throughout the installation.
The system was installed over 14 working days using our in-house installation team. We managed the full DNO application and grid connection process, as well as all compliance documentation and commissioning sign-off.
Since commissioning, the system has consistently generated over 220,000 kWh per year — covering approximately 40% of the facility’s total electricity demand. Combined with the Smart Export Guarantee income for surplus export, the client now saves over £68,000 annually and has significantly improved their sustainability credentials with customers and stakeholders.
